Turn 2

So we played a game last Wednesday normally we would play on a Friday but both our schedules were kind of packed this weekend! This game was action packed I will post the lists at the bottom of the page!

Pre Game: The Sentinels had deployed first, Chaos deploying around them. Chaos was forced to go first So the game was off!
Sentinel defenders
Chaos prepares to charge
The Chaos Land Raider explodes!

Turn 1: The Mauler-fiend moves forward trying to move to the bunker quickly! The Land Raiders move to secure the objectives! Trying to open up the Rhinos for a quick first blood the Las cannons and heavy bolters strike but are unable to breach the Rhinos defenses in the Ruins! The drop pod locks onto its landing coordinates and slams down! The Command squad and Tor Garadon move to stop the Land raider before it escapes across the field. The Centurion Devistators enter into the close bunker and activate its auto defense turrets. The squad 1 Rhino moves quick to meet the Maulerfiend. The Shooting phase is rather fortuitous for the Sentinels las cannons and Rockets unload onto the Maulerfiend with Tank Hunters glance and pen 5 times, only making 2 of the 5+ invul saves the Maulerfiend ceases to move. The Command Squad fires melta shots into the land raider, choosing to opt for the landraider with 10 Beserkers inside it instead of trying to slay the Chaos Lord. Glancing twice but 1 pen makes it through and destroys the landraider! One Beserker and one sentinel are claimed in the resulting explosion!

Cultists Claim objective 4

Turn 2: The Chaos Maelstorm objective is rolled up and they have to claim objective 4, the cultist claim it quickly! The second maelstrom is rolled and must go for objective 3. The Beserkers climb from the wreckage of their Land raider and prepare to murder the command Squad. The Dark apostle jumps out of the functional land raider and joins the Beserkers. The Land Raider moves away heading toward objective 3. The Resulting assault phase is a massacre. The Dark apostle issues a challenge to Tor while his command squad is cut to pieces around him.

1st Captain Garadon  survives the death of his squadmates!
The wounds spill into the single combat and manage to bring Tor to his knees. The Dark Apostle goes in for the kill, raising his power maul above his head in an epic death stroke. Tor acts quickly grabbing the maul in his massive Powerfist and crushes it, dispersing the power field. Ripping the functionless Crozius Arcanum from the Dark Apostles grasp, he drives the pommel through the chest of the Vile heretic using the force of the powerfist put him down.

The land raider fires shots at squad 2's Rhino and manage to glance a hull point off. Sentinels turn 2 roll on the Maelstrom chart and must score objective 1, which looks to be in control of the Beserker squad. Sentinels reserves fail to arrive. The Centurion Devistators open fire on the Cultists on objective 4. Manage to maim quite a few. Squad rhinos move out of cover to start to secure objectives. The remaining Beserkers manage to maim Garadon, and consolidate to objective 1.

Cultist hold ground!

Blood For The Blood God!
Turn 3:  The Land Raider moves even closer to its objective. The Beserkers disembark with the chaos lord leading the charge. The Stranded Beserkers move to secure objective 1. Rhino 2 is blasted open by the Land Raider and Squad 2 disembarks for maximum fire support. Squad 1 holds as krak grenades bounce off the hull. The Stranded Beserkers fail their charge due to snake eyes. However Squad 2 is not as lucky.

The Chaos Lord bellows across the battlefield to the beleaguered field Sargent. "Your head will sit beneath the skull throne! he spats" The Axe of blind fury in his hand he cleaves left and right as Imperial fist marines are cut down. One after another they fall before him, until he reaches the Sargent. " I bring you death!" The axe cuts the Sargent head from his shoulders. The Blood God is pleased as the Beserkers route the remaining marines ,who put up paltry resistance.

The last stand of squad 2.
Objective 3 is Claimed by Chaos and they gain another point. They Roll the maelstrom chart and get King slayer which they already claimed. gaining them 2 more points. The Vindicator moves into position, Squad 1 stays inside the safety of the Rhino, The Storm Talon moves to Flank the Cultists. The Centurions open fire on the Beserkers they can see clearing them back from objective 1. The Vindicator also unloads a Siege shell and removes a few more from the front ranks. The Drop pod and Rhino manage to remove 1 more Beserker as their ranks are quickly thinning. Squad one unleashes Heavy bolter and bolter fire to kill the remaining resistance. Objective 1 is secured gaining the Sentinels a point, Rolling on maelstorm again they must secure Objective 2. The Storm Talon  removes more cultists and they break ranks and flee.

Turn 4:
Chaos moves the land Raider into cover blocking the beserkers from being fired at.
The Remaining Sentinels move to secure any stray objectives.  We call the game at turn 4.

Black Templar Vs Dark Angels

Dark Angels Vs Black Templar
Game type: Relic
Deployment: Hammer and Anvil
Maelstrom of War rules used

We played a 1300 pt game the other night. Dark Angels Vs Black Templar. We used the Maelstrom of War rules as well to test them out. The Dark angels drew first blood with the command squad's Melta guns after the Las predator stripped a hull point off of the Land Raider. The Crusader squad took cover from the other side of the land raider.
Dark Angels secure the Relic, and rolled the maelstrom of war objective to hold 1 objective till the end of the turn. The bikes flat out and pull the relic behind the hill. 2-0 Dark angels.

The Black Templar roll the win 1 assault, maelstrom objective. The Dark angels command squad are on the receiving end of that assault. Razorback and Contemptor dread head up the board. The Dark Angels Speeder jink to evade the las cannon shots from the second Razor back.
Rolling up the second maelstrom objective and the Black Templar gain King slayer, Azreal is now in The Emperors Champions sights. The Raven Wing bikes move the relic further out of reach of the Black Templar. They pass the relic off to an attack bike and try to protect him.
The predator takes a hull point off the Templar's advancing razorback and immobilizes him next to the bunker. The Dark Angels gain another point for controlling the Relic.  The Black Templar fail their assault by a few inches. causing them to stand their ground for another turn.
The Land Speeder tries to flank the Razor back and is rammed by it instead causing a stunned result. The Contemptor runs up the flank and is almost in striking distance to the Terminators. The death-wing terminators have to make the call weather to advance or stand their ground. They open up on the Templar stopping 4 marines but the Emperors Champion shrugs off the rest of the shots. The predator strips a hull point off the contemptor
and destroys a close combat weapon. The razorback squad disembarks and sits
next to the bunker for a turn.

The Crusader squad finally makes its charge after the contemptor eats the over-watch. Issuing a challenge for the Honor of his chapter, he Beckons for Azriel to step forward and face him in single combat. The Grand master accepts this duty. Unleashing a flurry of blows, each swing connects but The Emperors Champion shrugs them off, his fury and Righteous zeal unmatched even by the Grand Master. No pity, No Remorse , No Fear the Litanies chanted by the Chaplin echoing in the Emperors champions ears each strike finds a home. In a single strike Azriel is laid low, his death wing retinue are surprised and also are taken down in the Champions fury. The Contemptor finishes off the remaining deathwing as the squad consolidates towards line breaker. This was getting pretty late in the game, the Darkangels drop pod landed in my lines and took line breaker, my contemptor was immobolized just short of line breaker and I had to use the Crusader squad to get it. The Bike squad fled, leaving the attack bike claiming the relic solo, he went and hid out of line of sight.
The game ended in a 8-5 Victory Dark angels! Azzy failed his invul against the instant death save from the sword. letting the other 2 wounds go into the squad, it was pretty potent. A Great game, loving the new rules. Tossing maelstrom in worked out pretty good too.

Hobby Update

Hey all! I have got a little bit of hobby in between hours at the shop! I have had this Black Templar Dread for a few years now. I decided to make him sing a bit, I added a Kromlech Rocket launcher to him, Used a spare Graviton Cannon on the Close combat weapons. I figured his load out would clock in the low 200+ pts. I put together a few more GK termies. I also was making a the Dark Vengeance Chaplin into a black Templar. I also did a few more Gaunts up! so I am just about half way done!

Busy Week!

Holy it has been a hectic week. We just opened the storefront and the response has been crazy! So I have spent every day this week working. Even Sunday on my day off! We still went in to make sure we are in good shape for Monday morning. We actually played a team game on Friday night. We didn't get started till quite late so I did not take any pics! I think with my last hours tonight I am going to assemble more Gaunts!
I have some big things on the hobby front in the works! I am going to be picking up a rather large Gray Knight army to supplement my existing army. I just wanted to post to make sure people still know I am alive, I will have more hobby time this week! promise!- Russ

7th Edition update

I am unleashing the Swarm upon the table top for the first time in 7th Edition tomorrow. I have every model in this list but the biovores right now. I’ll have to wait to do some Ebay magic to get a hold of 3 of those guys. This is the list I will be running against my friends 1250 lists. We usually play a 4000 pt 3 player game if we can. I just really wanted to get the Scythed Hierodule on the table top. So I suggested 1250 for the other players. It will be interesting how we work out psychic phase powers. I wonder if they generate their powers together or have the same pool. That’s just more Fun things to think about. The list is below, I had to pad out the last 250 points with regeneration on the monstrous creatures just in case I get locked out of catalyst now.

I have some big things in the work this weekend. The Store front will be operating so I will have a pretty full schedule the coming weeks but I have it on good authority that Sundays will make a good game day. My girlfriend is opening her Vegan/Gluten free Pre-Packaged food business this Monday. It’s been a tough few months getting all the pieces into place. Check out her website or give her a like on Facebook www.eatwhatsgood.com every little bit counts. - Russ
