League Night

Hello All! So Thursday Night Is our League Night.
I got a lot of good pictures. The Orks vs Imperial fist was a game from Wednesday Night.  I used Pedro Kantor for that game for the army wide preferred enemy. It was fairly potent.  There is a few pics from Chaos Space Marines Vs Eldar and Salamanders Vs Tyranid. That was a close match. Maelstrom objectives are really really fun. I am going to be in the middle of a move the first week of August. I will increase my posts after that! Enjoy the photos I will have a few battle reports ready for then too.

Orks Vs Tyranid Escalation!

Game Type: Maelstrom of war
Deplyoment: Hammer and Anvil
Escalating Objectives 1 on Turn 1, 2 on turn 2 etc etc,

Points: 2020
basically 1250 + the super heavies, I added Biomorph upgrades to even the points out.We gave out 3 points for a dead Super Heavy and 1 point for Taking a wound or a hull point. Orc Tactical objectives were also in use! I am just going to do a general overview of the match! It was great. It was the first time I got to put my Heirodule on the board, and it was the first game with my
Nyds with new Orks. I got beat by them last time and was out for Vengeance!

The Orks Started by Seizing the Initiative, the Stompa moved up with his can wall and proceeded to unload every weapon in the Ork codex. One by one he read off the weapons the Stompa fired till he got to the Mega Kannon or what ever, that finished off the Zoeanthropes for first blood. The Kans tried to whittle down my flying MC but ork shooting got the better of them. Surviving the inital shoot out the Tyranids leapt into action. The Sycthed Heirodule moved into assault range, both my Hive crone had jinked so they moved across the field as fast as possible. There was little psycic powers that needed to be cast so I jumped to the shooting phase.
There was little shooting I tried to take out the warlords Trukk but it made all the invul saves it could. The gaunts took out the other ork trukk and charged its occupants! The Scythed Heirdule charged into Combat with the Stompa , Taking a Hull point off with hammer of wrath, Then It shaved another 5 off in the combat. The stompa failed to strike back. We found the wreck of the ork trukk to be the most dangerous peice of terrain on the board as gaunts and orks alike died to its dangerous terrain checks.
The Ork player seeing how that close combat was going to play out moved away from the stompa.
The Kommandos out flanked to my objective side and the second trukk moved to engage the spawned gaunts. ( more to come)

7th Edition update

I am unleashing the Swarm upon the table top for the first time in 7th Edition tomorrow. I have every model in this list but the biovores right now. I’ll have to wait to do some Ebay magic to get a hold of 3 of those guys. This is the list I will be running against my friends 1250 lists. We usually play a 4000 pt 3 player game if we can. I just really wanted to get the Scythed Hierodule on the table top. So I suggested 1250 for the other players. It will be interesting how we work out psychic phase powers. I wonder if they generate their powers together or have the same pool. That’s just more Fun things to think about. The list is below, I had to pad out the last 250 points with regeneration on the monstrous creatures just in case I get locked out of catalyst now.

I have some big things in the work this weekend. The Store front will be operating so I will have a pretty full schedule the coming weeks but I have it on good authority that Sundays will make a good game day. My girlfriend is opening her Vegan/Gluten free Pre-Packaged food business this Monday. It’s been a tough few months getting all the pieces into place. Check out her website or give her a like on Facebook www.eatwhatsgood.com every little bit counts. - Russ

Tyranid Update #5

Just a quick update! I got shrike in a trade a while back so I had him and Helbrecht sitting in some brake fluid to strip the paint off. I reclaimed my kitchen table! Moved all of my painting area into my old desk. I have primed the Venomthropes as well.
I finished painting up my Tervigons and my last Crone. I hit everything with the Army painter soft tone. I am Going to either use satin varnish or matte polish on them when they are dry. I used some time yesterday to actually base all of the remaining Monstrous creatures.  I am getting closer to assembling the gants! - Russ

Battle Report: Tyranid Vs Dark Angels

The Swarm takes to the Skies!
Holiday Monday my chum and I managed to squeeze in an 1860 match! (The extra 10 points was for a multi-melta/ Toxic sacs) It was a vicious match, I wanted retaliation for a previous game where he tabled my Crimson Slaughter list rather handily. My Tyranids hungered! and I was out for blood. My friend did make one mistake which was combat squading his bikes but it actually was what got him a quick lead. The game was not a blow out by any means but the dice started to roll against my opponent early on.

Game Type: Purge The Alien
Secondary: The Scouring objectives 1,2,3 points
First blood, Warlord, Line Breaker
Deployment: Vanguard
Night Fight Turn 1

Ravenwing outflank
Turn 1:
The Landraider and speeders make a move to cross the table quickly knowing the Terminators can take out the Tervigons handily. The searchlights open up the Venomthrope and he quickly falls to a hail of assault cannon and bolter fire. First blood and a kill point goes to the Dark Angels. The Tyranid respond by passing out catalyst to the Crones and Hive Tyrant. The Land raider goes down to some lucky shooting by the Crones. The rest of the Tyranids run.

Turn 2: The Jet fighter fails to arrive. The land speeders move back sitting at arms reach and begin to try and bring down the Hive Tyrant. The last of the gunfire brings the Hive tyrant down and he suffers a wound. Unfortunately for the Terminators the Hive crone blocks the path to him. The Devastators pour rockets onto the Tervigon. Inflicting 2 more wounds. The Mawloc arrives but mishaps and gets placed across the map. He runs into the Difficult terrain making the marines work to assault him. The Tyranids respond by ripping the Land speeder and Dark Shroud apart with vector strikes. The Hive tyrant flanks to the right of the ruins and unleashes a hail of brain leech worms upon the devastators losing 2 rockets. The Crone runs to clear the ruin jockeying for position. The Gants continue to run.

Turn 3: The Jet Fighter fails to arrive yet again. The Dark Angels go on the offensive, putting more shots into the Gants closing the gap. The Devastators put 2 wounds onto the Zoenthropes and insta kill 2, failed invul saves! The Bikes move across the back board and put a wound onto the Mawloc. The remaining speeder puts another round of shots to the Tervigon but she makes her saves. The Marines put 2 more wounds onto the Mawloc before he makes his Hit and Run. The second Mawloc appears and Manages to kill 3 Terminators before dying to Mishap. The Hive crones and Hive Tyrant all make a beeline for the edge of the table. Vector striking 3 squads on the way by Killing 2 of them. The reaming mawloc makes his instinctive behavior and also burrows.
The Ravenwing try to quickly push the Gants back.
Devastators have a great view of the carnage.

The Gants try to slow the RavenWing.

The Mawloc claims a few Deathwing victims before being slain.

Devastators weathering the storm of fire.

Azzy carries his wound of shame.

Turn 4: The Jet Fighter arrives and heads towards the remaining Venomthrope, killing him quickly. the Gants get assaulted by the bike squads. The Dev's fire onto the Tervigon. The Dark Angels hopes of salvaging this battle are coming back. The Crones arrive, as well as the Hive Tyrant. The Crones only glance the Jet Fighter, the Hive Tyrant puts more shots into the devs, killing the other 2 rockets and wounding the libby. The bike squads thinking they are safe from shooting are surprised when the mawloc bursts into the combat. Killing a handful of Gants. The remaining Gants make it across the board withing striking distance of azzy. The tervigons spawn Gants onto their objectives before Moving to secure other objectives.

Turn 5 The Jetfighter moves to contest a objective and to try and finish the Tervigon. Rallying from their hit and run tactics. The bike squad with the power fist prepares to charge the Mawloc, only to lose the power fist to dangerous terrain. The Crone moves to take out the lone speeder. The other Crone contests the Deathwing claimed objective. The Hive Tyrant fires into the Libby and Sgt killing both.
with that the game ends. No extra turns.

Final Score
Dark Angels: 6 pts
Firstblood, Linebreaker ,4 Kill points.
Tyranid: 13 pts
Line breaker, 7 Kill points, 1 Scouring point , 4 objective points.

Chaos Space Marines Vs. Tyranids Recap Battle Report

Tyranids swarm the objective
Chaos prepares its advance
Game Type: Relics of the Emperor
Deployment: Dawn of War
No Night Fighting

Relic: 3 pts
HQ: objectives 2 pts
First blood, Slay the Warlord, Line Breaker

We used old school dawn of war deployment, taking turns placing models. Chaos took first turn.

Turn 1: Chaos advances quickly. A Rhino gets immobilized on his objective. The Deamon prince jumps forward to try and gain cover from the Zoenthropes. The Other Rhinos advance towards the bunker in the center holding the Relic. The Havoc launchers deal a few wounds to the Gants, but no real blood is spilled. The Tyrand Turn 1 is a bit more Vicious. Jumping from cover the Hive Crone and Hive Tyrant jump towards the Deamon Prince, not before using Catalyst on himeself and Unleashing the Twin Linked brain leech worms on the Deamon prince brings him down quickly. First blood is taken by Tyranids. The chaos deamon will learn from this. The Hive crone takes a shot at the Forgefiend and manages a pen with a Tentaclid. The deamon Engine shrugs of the Results. The Zoenthropes unleash warp lances upon the rhino and only manage 3 glances. The Gants move up the board.

Open Fire!
The Swarm Hungers
 Turn 2
The Helldrakes make their arrival, vector striking the Hive Tyrant on the way by. It managed to make 3 FNP rolls! The plauge marines embarked into the derelict bastion, manning the gun emplacements and firing at the Hive Crone. The Crone shrugged off the wounds and manged to stay airborne.  Firing some more shots at the advancing swarm the Rhinos dealt some more wounds. Shrouded by the Venomthrope the Gants made cover saves. The Hell Drake unleashed its Hades auto cannon onto the Hive crone landing 3 wounds. The Forge Fiend manged to glance himself 3 times! but made 2 deamon saves. The Crone made 2 FNP and stayed aloft! The Tyranids  unleash the Warp lance upon the bastion leveling it to the ground. The Mawloc takes 2 hull points off of a Rhino before being forced back into reserves. The second Mawloc gets placed across the board. The Crones Split up and The Hive tyrant makes for the Marines holding the objective. The Hive Tyrant takes the last hull point off the forge fiend. The Crones attempt a few shots at the Hell Drakes and manage to get another Pen. The dice were rather hot for me this game! The Helldrake ignores the effect again. The Tyranid continue the advance with both Tervigon rolling doubles for making babies! with 22 Gants added to the table the gants Run!

Helldrakes vs. Hive Crones
Turn 3
Curse you metal Bawks!
The chaos player gets up close and personal to the Zoenthropes. Killing one with a vector strike. The hades auto cannon kills the remaining brood. The marines disembark from their Rhinos and move towards the objective. He uses all available bolter fire and brings down the Hive Tyrant leaving him with 1 wound. He finishes the beast with a hail of bolter and plasma fire. Scoring Slay the Warlord. The remaining Drake goes into reserves. The Mawloc arrives from reserve!  Bursting forward and taking out enough plauge marines to stand on the objective! The second Mawloc goes underground! The Crones vector strike on their way into reserves. Killing 2 more marines. The Gants continue towards the relic and line breaker!
You shall not pass!

Turn 4
The Drake returns, using the bale flamer and vector striking the gants away from the Relic. The Marines bolt pistol into the Mawloc and attempt to charge. The Chaos lord leading the fray manages to deal 3 wounds to the Mawloc. He smashes and kills 2 marines. Gants manage to deal 2 hull points to the Hell Drake. Rhinos continue to try and stop Gants from getting line breaker.
The combat continues with the mawloc killing another marine leaving The Chaos lord the sole marine in combat.

Turn 5
Firing more shots at the Gants its not enough to deny line breaker. The close combat is resolved with the Chaos lord dealing 1 wound. The Mawloc smashes and the lord failed his invulnerable save. we don't roll for extra turns because its rather late and a lot of beer was drank.

Final score
Tyranids: 5 Points
Chaos Space Marines: 3 Points
